Penny Slots...Yet No Pennies? I'm Keen!

     On Wednesday, after we ate our $6 pizza (which actually cost us $20 in cab fares after it arrived an hour and a half late causing us to miss the bus), Maddy, Meadbh, and Justin let me tag along on their "family outing" to the casino.  We all dressed up, grabbed our coins, and hopped in the cab to Jupiter's.  After yet another miserable cab experience, we were all happy enough to even have made it to the casino, nevermind actually being legally allowed inside!  Once we made it in (phew!), we took a casual walk around the place, trying to make it look as though our only experience with casino games was not on the Wii.  Madde and I sat down at a penny slot initially and hit random buttons, quickly realizing that slot machines were not quite as simple as anticipated.  Then Meadbh and Justin, who had ventured off, came back with rewards cards which we obviously had to have.  Now, not only do I get two free drinks everytime I walk in the door but the slot machines wish me good luck by name every time I play! Wow!

     Next, I found the game which very well may lead to me having to fast and neglect washing my clothes for the last few months of being abroad.  AND it's called "Kelly's Fortune."  We were pretty much meant to find eachother.  The only down-side to this machine is that it costs a nickel instead of a penny...do they think i'm made of money?!  However, to counter the down-side, I have found that it is far more exciting to win nickels than pennies.  My big win for the night was $1.50 on Kelly's Fortune...just enough for the bus ride home.  Too bad I got caught up in the moment and spent that money in the same machine, only to loose it and 50 more cents :(  I think i'll just blame Justin who made us stay for the extra hour while he played the Black Jack tables.  But, I can't blame him; he's the only one who walked out on top (Justin: +$60, Kelly: -$2, Meadbh: -$5, Maddy: $0).  For right now, I don't think you have to worry about seeing us on any TLC addicted to gambling specials, but I have to admit that it was a lot of fun and we all can't wait to go back!  Deal is, first one to hit it big has to put the other ones up the Jupiter hotel for the night!
